Best Communication Tool
Available to Those Who Trail!

I have been riding quads, side by sides, and snowmobiles with my friends for a few years now, and we always had one issues while riding, and that was communicating with each other. It should be easier than you think, but for us it was troublesome, often leaving some of us lost, or taking time to get back to the main trail. Since then, I have found a solution that allows us to communicate through GMRS Walkie-Talkies while wearing our helmets. I will link the products I purchased from Amazon below so you can do this too. For a 3-person kit, this runs me about $240, so $80 per person.

First you need the actual radios, there are many different combinations of these available, but I use the Midland handhelds for the guys on the quads and snowmobiles. https://amzn.to/3EkqxBX

To make them easier to carry while on the trailers, I also purchased these radio holders, I am not sure how to pronounce the company name, but they have worked well for the price tag. https://amzn.to/47D8hkr

After you have your radios and a solution to securing them to your body or rig, you now need the Midland Motorcycle Helmet Headset, this will work with the radios above. Essentially this headset will plug into your mobile radio, and then you will mount (with double-sided sticky tape included) two small speakers and a microphone to your headset. Lastly, you will velcro the Push-To-Talk button to your 4-wheeler or snowmobile handlebar, you want this close to your thumb so you can press it to talk, normally I put this on my left handlebar so it is my opposite hand than the throttle control. https://amzn.to/3sfVVi5

Lastly, and not needed, but if one of your friends rides in a Jeep or side-by-side, it is probably better for them to purchase the Midland MicroMobile radio, this can be a bit more costly than single-person radios, but way more comfortable. https://amzn.to/3E2O61Y

All of these products together have improved my friend groups riding experience and makes us much safer while traveling. We even have a MicroMobile radio back at the cabin, in case someone needs to get ahold of us.
